Patellofemoral joint and lower limb malalignment treatment

Do you experience kneecap pain going up and down the stairs or after prolonged sitting in a car? If so, you may be experiencing  patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Patellofemoral pain syndrome is an extremely common condition often described as pain in, under or behind the kneecap. Patellofemoral refers to the joint that includes the knee cap (patella) and the thigh bone. It can result from:

  • Lower limb malalignment of the kneecap on the thigh bone
  • Weakness of the thigh muscles
  • Tight structures on the outside of the knee
  • Abnormal patellar tracking (when the kneecap shifts out of place)
