Fractures

A fracture (broken bone) is a common orthopedic injury. At Wayne State University Physician Group, the treatment of a fracture depends on the type and location of the broken bone, your age and activity level, and any other injuries you may have.

 Fractures can be caused by:

  • Trauma- from a fall, car accident or physical contact
  • Osteoporosis - a disease that results in the thinning of the bone
  • Overuse - common among athletes
