Neuropathic pain research and management in southeast Michigan

The Pain Division of Wayne State University Physician Group’s Neurology Clinic is devoted to the study of neuropathic pain, including its:

  • Causes
  • Physiology of disordered function
  • Potential ways of relieving it

We are comparing biologic characteristics of two related nerve injuries, one of which reduces withdrawal threshold to light touch.

Our research and investigation work has major implications with regard to treatment and may help prevent the late occurrences of pain after injury.
