Nephrology
The Nephrology Clinic consists of 12 full-time nephrologists and a doctoral scientist, all of whom are actively involved in medical education. Together, these WSUPG specialists provide a full spectrum of care for patients with all types of kidney diseases. Our doctors have particular expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic and hypertensive kidney disease, lupus nephritis, polycystic kidney disease, and glomerular diseases.
Expertise is also available in the treatment of disorders of fluid and electrolytes, (i.e., disorders of sodium, potassium, calcium, and acidosis and alkalosis). Outpatient clinics provide a full spectrum of services for patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease. We offer the full spectrum of acute and chronic therapies, including hemodialysis, continuous ultra filtration, hemoperfusion, peritoneal dialysis and transplantation.
Particular expertise is available for the treatment of acute renal failure, toxic kidney injury and kidney failure associated with malignancy.
